ViVa Tampa Bay Hispanic Heritage Festival Upcoming Artist
NATALIE CLARO
Fifteen year old singer/songwriter Natalie Claro’s love of music began at early age. At five, Natalie was given a harmonica and to the surprise and delight of her parents, taught herself to play. Because she was so little, a ukulele, rather than a large guitar, soon followed and a precocious Natalie began to strum a tune, writing her first original composition in Kindergarten. At five, her grandfather gifted her with a piano and Claro began playing music she heard on the radio by ear.
Though Claro had always been involved in dance and orchestra through school, it wasn’t until an opportunity to appear in Life Amplified KIDSHELPINGKIDS, a variety showcase for charity in May 2014 at Carrollwood Players, did she perform solo.
That one song, the reaction of the crowd, the feeling of being on stage that only a performer can understand set in motion a chain of events that still echoes today.
The straight “A” student was recently featured at Tampa Bay Acoustic Music Festival at the Hard Rock Café, has held center stage at Sacred Grounds Coffee Shop, Whistle Stop Girls with Guitars, Sea Sea Riders Restaurant, Hero Fest and other music festivals throughout Florida.
With an eclectic mix of original music and covers that she adds her own flair, Claro’s next step in her growth as an artist is to coproduce an EP and video and eventually develop an album.
Whether it’s her dream of being a guest and playing pranks on Ellen, hosting SNL, or performing on stage with Justin Timberlake, Claro’s sheer determination make these goals go from being improbable to being a future possibility.
In any case, Claro is a name synonymous with a young rising star with a level head on her shoulders backed by a strong family support system.
