All American Music Productions Inc., the Ybor Chamber of Commerce, the Ybor Rotary Club and Course of Action are proud to announce and invite the Tampa Bay community and surrounding counties to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring generations of Hispanic Americans residing in Tampa Bay, and across our Sunshine State as well as the nation for their social, cultural and economic contributions! Through hard work and dedication, Hispanic Americans have contributed to science, the arts, commerce, sports, philanthropy and every other facet of American life.  Men and women of Hispanic descent have proudly and courageously served in the armed forces throughout American history, showing an unwavering commitment to protect our nation.

Join us for this feet stomping performance including the renowned singer, artist Charlie Cruz and the electrifying band of Plena Mar Latino for the biggest and most exciting event celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month and enjoy an exciting FREE Family Art & Cultural Festival, celebrating the beauty of Tampa Bay’s Hispanic Communities!  Guests will enjoy delicious Latin foods, festivities and local band performances dedicated to Hispanic Heritage.  Cultural dance exhibitions, and recognition of our cities most influential Hispanic leaders who will be receiving the prestigious Heritage Award in business, community, health and more to include the category of the Amigo and Amiga award, an award presented to someone of non-Hispanic ancestry for doing so much for the Hispanic community!

This year we will show case “Veterans Thunder Alley Booths” to show case a number of Veteran non-profit organizations. These organizations will interact with our community and share with us their personnel stories and how they are helping our Veterans and first responders in Tampa, Florida.

Charlie Cruz belongs to the new generation of salseros born in the nineties and his particular style makes it different from the rest. You can say that Charlie has a unique label and, thanks to his musicality, and the power to improvise that surprises on every stage where he acts, is today one of the pillars of a movement that does not die: La Salsa! Among his most recent successes are; True Love, You Confuse Me, Let Me Change Your Life, I Want To Know You, and, who managed to reach the number one position on the Tropical Billboard. His career includes hits such as; Fall The World Sugar Candy, Love Is A Problem, A Chin Chin, Cry With Me, Let It Dance, I Need More Of You. The challenge now is to consolidate in other countries such as Canada, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Panama and Colombia, Peru, “markets that have to give us much in the sauce and have always supported us.” Likewise, it aims to support the new talents of the genre, “who are denied the opportunities, since they cannot be measured with established artists. We must continue giving support to keep growing and put forward a genre with so much history as salsa. “

Charlie’s latest hit song  with Tito Nieves “SE CAE EL MUNDO” is considered as one hits for this summer. He will be performing it at ViVA Tampa Bay 2017!

“I want to continue singing, to enjoy everything I have in life, which are gifts from God, and to stand on the pallets, not for stardom, but to give my heart for the passion and love I have for Art as to life itself, ” concludes the singer-songwriter.

Plena Mar Latino, a Puerto Rican group of 12 dynamic musicians, will perform their exciting and entertaining sound during the event. Plena Mar Latino consists of 12 professional musicians in its branch, and thus highlighting that typical acoustic sound that is still heard playing in the corners of neighborhoods in Puerto Rico. But, at the same time, it the band maintains a tradition that, instead of staying distant and forgotten, is reinvented originally and dynamically.  “We are a modern group, full of energy, with young, modern visions and with much desire to continue our own style but still reserving the feeling of what is full,” said band members.  That’s why they are different from the other groups in Central Florida. They have participated in several Puerto Rican parades and multiple social activities, such as the San Sebastian Street Festival in Orlando and Miami, the Bomb and Plena Festival in Tampa, the Cultural Festival in Miami and the Hispanic Festival in Jacksonville.

Getting her start as a performer by singing in church, then local salsa bands, and then singing the national anthem at various ceremonies, including ceremonies for the current surgeon general of today’s commanding army. She has performed on many us army bases at different venues and festivals, for soldiers, military families, and civilians. In 2010 Isis was invited to perform with the U.S.ARMY rhythm and blues band tour to essence festival in New Orleans, La. there she performed songs like “respect” by recording artist Aretha Franklin, “teenage love affair” by vocalist and piano player Alicia Keys amongst other well-known songs. izis has shared stages with legends like Rico Walker, Cita Rodriguez, Mario Ortiz jr. Tito Puente jr. Maelo Ruiz, Domingo Quiñones, and Sonora Ponceña. Opened for Gilberto Santa Rosa, Victor Manuelle, Paquito Guzman and salsa legend Larry Harlow. Izis has also sang with several latin bands directed by Don Pérignon, Georgie Padilla, a percussion master who has played and recorded with Frankie Ruiz and Sonora Ponceña, and Chino Nuñez. Last, but not least, she has also shared stages with Fausto Cuevas international percussion touring player for Jenifer Lopez and Stevie Wonder.

 

In 2016 Izis “la enfermera de la salsa” returned to the recording studio to work on her project of original music. Her original songs were given to Isis by prominent music composer from Puerto Rico, Gil Francisco, who has written songs like dile a ella sung by Victor Manulle , dime si eres feliz recorded by Tito Rojas, agua pasada sung by Frankie Negron, a veces sung by Domingo Quiñones. Arranger, engineer, and producer, recording for this project will be Mike Rivera who has worked with artist like India, Victor Manuelle, Olga Tañón, Ednita Nazario, Luis Enrique, Tito Nieves, Shakira, Celia Cruz and Ricky Martin. “mirame bien” composed by singer and writer Monica Nieves and arranged by Carlito Garcia an established professional piano player producer, arranger, recording artis and band leader. Izis feels blessed to be working on her next four productions including a tribute to famous tropical singer la lupe, with Chino Nuñez; an established professional percussionist, multi-instrumentalist, producer, arranger, composer, band leader, and educator, multiple Latin Grammy and billboard winner/nominee. Chino has hundreds of productions to his credit and has performed/toured with the critically acclaimed ensemble Chino Nuñez orchestra. Izis has been invited to sing in important events such as: festival de la calle en Miami, afro Latin fest Houston, Latin jazz & salsa fest Virginia, dia de San Juan fest long beach, ca, orange street festival Orlando, Fl, code lounge Puerto Rico and recietnte in 2017 a tour in panama, among others.

 

 

A special tribute

A special tribute to renowned Cuban singer Carlos Oliva y Los Sobrinos del Juez, who this year celebrates 50 years as an iconic musician and creator of the Miami sound. Carlos Oliva was born in Sancti-Spiritus, Cuba. His musical inclination has been apparent since childhood. In 1961, Carlos arrived in Miami, where he quickly began making a name for himself as a percussionist and a fine vocalist until he formed his own band, Los Sobrinos del Juez. Los Sobrinos del Juez are a very special unit of nine talented musicians who love and believe in the style of music that they play.

Carlos Oliva and L.S.D.J. notoriety grew as they created a new, inter-cultural sound; a fusion of Cuban music, salsa, afro beats, samba, jazz and rock. This melting pot of rhythmic seasonings soon became known as “The Miami Sound” For the first time in history, gave Miami a claim to fame for its Latin Music. Time Magazine credits Carlos as the initiator of this popular musical trend. The group was the first to take this sound outside of Miami to Las Vegas on various occasions and their numerous hits have taken them on tour throughout Latin America and Europe.

Carlos has produced and directed other musical groups, including Miami Sound Machine among many others. He has recorded his own compositions and has written for other international artists as well as theme songs for television shows like “Cristina”, “Ocurrio asi”, both winners of BMI Latin TV Theme Awards, “La Feria de la Alegria” and many others in addition to over one hundred radio and television commercials. Winner of an Emmy Award for the music of a promotional Univision Campaign, Carlos is a symbol of creativity and talent, greatly respected by his own community as well as internationally.
